In May, grass seed was applied to the remediated area of the site (11acres of land), marking the full completion of Phase One of remediation at the Focal Point Community Campus. We are currently awaiting the final No Further Remediation (NFR) letter from the Illinois EPA and expect to receive it soon. CSDC has also received an NFR letter for  25,000-gallon and 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks that were safely removed in fall of 2025.

Phase Two of the cleanup will begin once CSDC secures an approved Remedial Action Plan from the Illinois EPA, which is anticipated this fall. As we await the start of Phase Two, CSDC will continue to maintain the property by routinely addressing weed overgrowth and trash buildup.

Before Phase Two begins, a community meeting will be scheduled to provide a project update and address any questions or concerns. Please stay tuned; we will share a community notice once the meeting has been scheduled.
