November 7, 2022 - On November 17th at 3 PM, CSDC is hosting a virtual public meeting about its intent to apply for an environmental cleanup grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency to help remediate known contaminants in the soil at the former Washburne Trade School site at 31st and Kedzie. A draft of the grant application and the draft Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) report are available here for public review and comment. August 29-30, 2022 - Focal Point Architectural Programming Update Meeting – On August 29th and 30th, Saint Anthony Hospital along with several of its global partners held informational and programming sessions with residents from the communities we serve, community leaders, business leaders and elected officials. The meeting also provided specifics around the Focal Point Community Campus, the new location for a state-of-the-future Saint Anthony Hospital.
November 24, 2021 - CSDC submitted to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) a Comprehensive Site Investigation Report, Remediation Objectives Report, and Remedial Action Plan (CSIR ROR RAP) for the Washburne property, as part of its efforts to remediate the contaminated 11 acre parcel.
November 23, 2021 - CSDC hosted a virtual community meeting to provide community residents and stakeholders with information about the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (US EPA) Brownfields Cleanup Grant Program, and the proposal CSDC will be submitting in December. CSDC is applying for funding under the Brownfields Cleanup Grant Program, and is eligible to apply for grant funding to abate a variety ofcontaminants identified at the property located at 3200 S. Kedzie Avenue, part of the future Focal Point Community Campus. The primary focus of the public meeting was to inform community stakeholders about CSDC’s grant proposal and allow for public comments.

November 18, 2021 - Chicago Southwest Development Corporation and Saint Anthony Hospital hosted a community meeting at St. Agnus of Bohemia Catholic Church to update the community on the Focal Point Community Campus. November 17, 2021 - Ordinance O2021-5158 was introduced at Chicago City Council. The Ordinance is for a zoning reclassification at the Focal Point property as part of the Planned Development process.

Focal Point Demolition Project Community Meeting Overview, September 29, 2021, @ 6 PM
Chicago Southwest Development Corporation (CSDC) hosted a virtual community meeting via Zoom, with simultaneous professional Spanish translation. The meeting began promptly at 6 PM, with Alderman Rodriguez providing a brief statement. Guy A. Medaglia, President & CEO of CSDC, provided some remarks on the demolition project and CSDC’s commitment to be communicative, transparent, responsive, and open to suggestions from the community.
